I can report that I have used this system to compile firefox version 1.5.0.4 for the SA1100 cpu it took about 12 hrs on a 2 GHz athlon 64 (giving ca. This system can be used instead of scratchbox for cross-compiling, but it will likely be slower (scratchbox uses qemu, in any case). But the system can be maintained as an ordinary Debian system. Compile a kernel or applications natively in the qemu emulator. Why is this useful? This is an instant cross-compiler, for one, except it is a native compiler.
